An IFA asks: "I want in-house expertise to support my clients"

Story

A successful financial adviser understands that providing clients with a better service is the most important factor in aiding professional growth.

In a changing sector, it’s likely that many have found themselves considering the benefits of in-house expertise – but how could this help you to support your clients?

It could improve the value of your service. Having teams of experts all in one place allows you to offer a fully integrated proposition, with everyone working towards the same goal. While outsourcing can result in expensive third-party fees, moving to in-house may also reduce cost; this profit could potentially be passed onto your clients, making your service even more attractive.

It may also increase productivity, leaving you with more time to focus on your client relationships. In-house investment and technical teams can dedicate themselves to conducting thorough market research, ensuring a client’s portfolio is tailored around their personal goals and objectives. Alongside this, administrative support will relieve much of the burden of lengthy paper.

For smaller advisers who feel there is a growing need for in-house support, the solution may be to consider joining a larger firm who already have these resources at their disposal; although this is certainly a big decision and may not suit everyone.
