AFH staff select Mind as their 2019 chosen charity

Story

WeresupportingMindlogoAFH have chosen to raise money for mental health charity Mind this year.

Mind is a national charity that provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing mental health problems. It campaigns to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.

We are looking to beat the £11,200 we raised for Birmingham Women’s Hospital in 2018.

AFH charity co-ordinator Jenny Read explained:

“Every year, 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem. Hundreds of thousands of people are struggling, many alone and in silence. Mind’s work to help these people and those who support them makes a huge difference to so many lives.

“We’ve got lots of exciting ideas for how to bring in the cash, and over the year AFH teams across the country will be putting their best foot forward and reaching out to their local communities for support.”

Rebecca Hastings, head of corporate partnerships at Mind, said:

“We are delighted that AFH have chosen Mind as their charity of the year. This partnership will help us to reach a point where anyone with a mental health problem feels able to ask for, and access, the help they need.

“Money raised will help fund our vital work including our Mind Infoline, information and advice services, and our campaigning to ensure everyone who has a mental health problem gets support and respect.”

As well running lots of events to support this great charity, staff will also be working to increase their own awareness of mental health and support colleagues who may be having difficulties themselves.
