AFH-hospital-topWe are celebrating a very ‘Happy Old Year’ in celebration of raising more than £11,000 in 2018 for the Birmingham Women’s Hospital.

Our final total of £11,200 made us the charity’s biggest corporate supporters of the year.

Staff members climbed Snowdon, carved pumpkins, ran around Birmingham, burst balloons, played football, baked and ate cakes and dieted. They held pub quizzes, raffles and even held a sweepstake on the royal baby.

They also collected cosmetics and toiletries for ‘pamper hampers’ for patients and provided mugs for the hospital’s transitional care ward.

Ben Gilchrist, senior supporter care officer at Birmingham Women’s Hospital Charity said:

“We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at AFH Group who has taken part in fundraising this year. An incredible total: the £11,200 they donated will go a long way in making a huge difference to the women, babies and families using our hospital, and we are incredibly grateful to them all.”

Lucy Somner from AFH’s charity committee, who climbed Snowdon and ran the Birmingham 10k, said:

“We’ve had a really fun year raising money and supporting Birmingham Women’s Hospital. It’s been very busy, and lots of people have tried new things. Ben and the team at the hospital’s charity were great to work with, and we beat our £10,000 target. And ate a lot of cake!”
