AFH Staff Support
Birmingham Women's Hospital for 2018

Story

AFH staff have chosen Birmingham Women’s Hospital (BWH) as their 2018 charity.

BWH supports and cares for women, babies and their families across the West Midlands, including with neonatal care and its maternity unit. BWH Chairties works to make a real difference, making the hospital environment and experience the best it can be.

AFH charity co-ordinator Jenny Read said:

“Birmingham Women's Hospital is close to many of our hearts. This is a fantastic local charity, and we are looking forward to working together to raise money for this wonderful cause. We did really well this year, raising £2040 for Cancer Research UK, and are aiming to do even better in 2018. We have some great events planned already."

In previous years AFH have raised money for Midlands Air Ambulance, Primrose Hospice and Macmillan. Among this year’s fundraising activities were the old £1 coin collection challenge, the Great AFH Bake-Off and the long-running monthly raffle for the best spaces in the car park!

Louise McCathie, director of fundraising at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital Charities said:

“We’re so pleased AFH staff has chosen us as their charity of the year for 2018. We’ll be cheering on Jenny and all of her colleagues in their fundraising efforts, and the money raised will go towards making the hospital the very best it can be for our patients.”
