After deciding that studying to be a veterinary surgeon wasn’t for me, I completed a degree in Economics and Accountancy at Bristol University. I then joined Barclays Bank on their graduate training programme in the South West region of the country. After many posts across the region, and qualifying as an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, I obtained my first management position. This involved providing the “old-style relationship banking service” to wealthy customers in Hampstead and Highgate.

After a very successful few years there, I moved to Essex and carried out the same role in Brentwood and the surrounding areas. It was there that I qualified as a mortgage and financial adviser. Shortly after qualification, I was approached by a client to work for them as an Independent Financial Adviser. After this firm relocated to Leamington Spa, I was approached to work with another firm in Bishops Stortford. It was here that I learned the true nuts and bolts of the profession. I joined a similar sized practice in Braintree several years (and exams!) later, before joining Enable/AFH Wealth Management Bishop’s Stortford in June 2013.
