About me

I have lived, studied, and worked in Bishop’s Stortford all my life. Whilst all my friends went off to University I decided that I had had enough of ‘learning’ and decided instead to go out into the world and get a job.

I started my working life in a local firm of solicitors processing re-mortgage applications. Whilst there I decided that I would like to know more about the conveyancing process and undertook the CILEx Level 3 Certificate in Law and Practice. So much for “I’ve had enough of learning”!

I left the solicitor to join Enable/AFH Wealth Management Bishop’s Stortford in 2011. Initially, I split my time between the mortgage and the investment side of the business but in 2013 I moved over to work solely with the pension and investment clients. I enjoyed what I was doing so much that I decided I would like to gain a greater understanding of the advisory process and once again started studying. In 2014 I progressed to the role of a technical assistant. To date, I need one more exam pass to achieve my Diploma (Level 4) qualification.

I married in 2015 and my husband and I bought our first house together all within the space of 3 weeks. I am told that these are the two most stressful things you can do and as we did them at the same time I’m hoping it will all be plain sailing from here. My spare time is now taken up with renovating the house, I have become quite proficient at DIY whether it be painting, ripping out a kitchen or retiling a bathroom.
