About me
I joined the financial services industry in February 1989, initially working for a major insurance company for five years before joining a local IFA practice. I was headhunted in 1999 to join Highwood Financial Services (now AFH Wealth Management Watford), where I became an equity partner in early 2000.
Within the financial services sector, I am a general practitioner dealing with most aspects of financial planning. Drawing on my experiences from both sport and business, I believe in taking a holistic approach to client service—looking at the broader picture rather than concentrating on one small area of planning. I work in close harmony with my clients and their advisers so that everyone is aligned and working towards the same goals. My business experience enables me to understand the needs of the modern entrepreneur and their family.
I was a professional sportsman as a slalom skier, achieving a world ranking. I am also a qualified ski instructor in five countries. An injury curtailed my sporting career before I completed a first-class honours degree in Business Management. I later worked in, and became Marketing & Sales Director within, the fashion industry for a wholesale retail operation, managing multiple units and concessions in major UK department stores.
My hobbies include following my favourite football team at both home and away fixtures. I am a Master Scuba Diver, qualified in cave diving, and I also continue to enjoy skiing and snow permitting.
